ROTATING CONCENTRATORS

In rotating concentrators, that use an adsorption process, the VOC contained in a large air flow are concentrated into a much lesser air flow.

This is obtained by keeping the VOC on an adsorbing material and then by releasing them by means of a hot air flow.

Both operations are carried out continuously by using a single drum that rotates at low speed.

It is placed in such a way to work in correspondence with two separated sections.

In the first one, the polluted air crosses the rotating drum containing the adsorbing material and then it may be directly discharged into the atmosphere, as it is adequately purified.

In the second section the VOC are desorbed by means of a hot air flow of much lesser flowrate compared with that being purified.

Therefore in this second flow the VOC result at much higher concentration.

As a consequence, VOC recovery processes, where it is convenient, or thermal destruction processes become easier and more economic.

The adsorption is ensured by various materials, including activated carbon and zeolites, whilst the parts that form the rotating drum may be in a single or different materials.

All that allows ITAS to design and to manufacture the concentrators according to the most varied requirements, also in consideration of the fact that very large air flows may be treated by means of rotating drums set in parallel.
